14th edition of the Economic Award of the Mayor of the City of Lublin

We encourage representatives of Lublin businesses, scientific and research institutes, investors and inventors who have significantly contributed to the city's growth to apply for the Economic Award of the Mayor of the City of Lublin. Established in 2008, the awards recognize achievements of local businesses, providing them with a perfect opportunity to showcase their success.

The Economic Award is a confirmation of high business standards of a company and acknowledgement of its important position on a business map of Lublin. The award is also promoting pro-investment and pro-innovative attitudes of Lublin companies. The winners belong to a group of top businesses from Lublin that make a significant contribution to the economic development and modernization of the city, but also act as role models and contribute to the promotion and prestige of Lublin’s economy, says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin. 

In this year’s edition, representatives of companies, institutions and organizations located in Lublin can submit their participation in five categories: ‘Innovation’, ‘Presence on the Global Market’, ‘Large Companies - Growth Engines of Lublin's Economy', 'Young Companies’, and ‘Creative Industries’.

Candidates for the Economic Award of the Mayor of Lublin should comply with specific requirements:

  1. In the ‘Innovation’ category, meet at least one of the following conditions:
  • carry out research or implement innovative solutions within the last 3 years
  • economically benefit from implemented innovations
  • be authors of an innovative technology that has been fully implemented and available on the market
  1. In the ‘Presence on the Global Market’ category, meet at least one of the following conditions: 
  • have a high share of export revenues and demonstrate the dynamics of their growth
  • have significant shares in businesses based outside Poland
  • conduct research and development or implementation works focused on the development of activities on global markets
  1. In the '‘Large Companies - Growth Engines of Lublin's Economy' category, meet at least one of the following conditions: 
  • have a positive impact on the labour market of the city of Lublin
  • implement significant investment projects
  • have a recognizable brand
  1. In the ‘Young Companies’ category, all applicants are required to operate on the market for no more than 5 years starting from December 31, 2021, and meet at least one of the following conditions: 
  • show a dynamic increase in sales from the beginning of the company's existence
  • have potential for further development
  • show a dynamic increase in employment.
  1. In the ‘Creative Industries’ category:
  • run a business for at least 2 years, counting until 31 December 2021;
  • in the case of using a subsidy from the budget of the Lublin Commune in the last closed financial year, show that it constituted no more than 30% of the company's revenues; 
  • work in one of the following areas: film, video or multimedia, music, television, radio, publishing market, games and software, crafts and handicrafts, architecture, advertising and branding, design, and fashion design.

Applications for the competition are open, which means they can be submitted by institutions and organizations, editorial teams, as well as individually by candidates and can be submitted: 

  • in person at the Lublin City Hall, Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, Litewski 1 Square in Lublin (room 103);
  • by registered mail (date of the postmark is decisive) to the following address: Lublin City Hall, Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, 1 Litewski Square, 20-080 Lublin, with the annotation "Konkurs o Nagrodę Gospodarczą Prezydenta Miasta Lublin – edycja 2022”
  • via e-mail (biznes@lublin.eu), provided that the application form is signed with a secure electronic signature, verified with a valid qualified certificate;
  • in electronic form via the Electronic Inbox (ESP) available on the Electronic Platform of Public Administration Services (ePUAP) at: / UMLublin / SkrytkaESP.
