Loan Agreement from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for Lublin – nearly PLN 21.5 million for digitalization

“Digitalization is an investment in our shared future. Thanks to KPO funds, not only private sector entities but also local governments and medical facilities can modernize their systems more quickly and better respond to residents’ needs. The loans granted to Białystok, Lublin, and Bolesławiec show that a digital Poland is not a distant vision, but concrete projects being carried out here and now,” emphasized Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs.

“Today’s agreements are being signed just eleven weeks after the launch of applications for advanced digital transformation support from KPO funds. At the end of September—after only three months—we will close the call due to very high demand for this form of support. This demonstrates both strong awareness of digital needs and excellent project preparation by municipalities and their institutions. We are pleased to see how digitalization is becoming a priority in areas that were, until recently, bastions of paper documentation, such as healthcare and public administration. Every new digitalization project is undoubtedly another step toward a modern, innovative, and resilient economy,” said Prof. Marta Postuła, First Vice President of BGK.

Modern computer equipment for Lublin

The project includes replacing 700 desktop computers and 300 laptops at Lublin City Hall, as well as 2,500 computer sets in Lublin’s educational institutions.

“As a local government, we are responsible for planning, purchasing equipment and software, and ensuring data security. The modern IT infrastructure we will acquire through this project will make administrative tasks more efficient, improve services for residents, and maximize the potential of digital tools that support management and education. Further automation of administrative processes and the implementation of innovative technologies will allow us to be better prepared for the challenges of modern governance and digital education. Importantly, the nearly PLN 21.5 million loan from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan is a transfer of public funds offered on terms more favorable than those available on the market,” said Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.

Preferential loans for digitalization – another KPO instrument

Preferential loans for digitalization are another KPO instrument managed and implemented by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. The call for applications opened on July 9 and will close on September 30 due to high demand. Local governments, universities, businesses, and other entities implementing digitalization projects can apply for loans with a total budget of approx. PLN 2.8 billion. For local governments and universities, digitalization loans from KPO funds are interest-free, unless they constitute de minimis aid.
