Lublin under construction vol. 3 - industrial sector

The outburst of COVID-19 has had and continues to have devastating effects not only on our health but also on businesses, yet the industrial sector despite all of the challenges and difficulties brought about by the pandemic, seems resistant to its negative impact and continues to grow. What is the reason for that? By guaranteeing access to essential goods, such as food, medicines and vaccines, the industrial sector keeps economies afloat and drives them forward. This consequently translates into an unabated interest of investors who want to establish new or expand already existing premises.

Lublin is perceived as an attractive investment destination for many branches of industry including automotive & machinery, food processing but also metalworking, manufacturing and chemical. Even though the Lublin industrial sector is highly diverse, what all of these branches have in common is good conditions for development. Among the factors attracting investors to our city are undoubtedly access to a pool of skilled workers, convenient location, relatively low employment and operational costs but also attractive forms of support or existence of a Special Economic Zone. The basic benefits of investing in the Special Economic Zone Euro-Park Mielec involve access to well-prepared plots of land as well as a perfect location in the vicinity of an express ring road and Lublin's airport.

This is why companies with a significant position in the European market such as Aliplast, Chemnovatic, and Medisept have launched their operations here and continue to expand their facilities.

In this article, we would like to take a look at investments from the industrial sector that are currently under construction and are important from the perspective of Lublin’s development as they affect the economy and provide a lot of opportunities for its residents.

Medisept

MEDISEPT Sp. z o.o. has been investing in new facilities and technologies in the Special Economic Zone located in Lublin for many years. In 2015, the company completed the construction of a factory in the Special Economic Zone Euro-Park Mielec, and launched a modern and automated production line for disinfectants in the medical standard with an innovative research centre.

The company is constantly expanding its facilities and investing in the development of innovative methods of disinfectants and modern hygiene agents' production. One of its most recent projects is a high-bay warehouse that was put into service in 2021.

Currently, MEDISEPT is building a Research and Development Center along with administrative and office buildings directly adjacent to the production facilities, which are to be ready in 2022. By implementing the project, the company will complete the process of consolidating all areas of activity in one place.

The centre will have accredited biological and virological laboratories that will enable microbiological tests on antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

The investment activities of MEDISEPT have been noticed by the management board of the Industrial Development Agency. The company was honoured with a statuette for a company investing in the Special Economic Zone EURO-PARK as one of the 13 most thriving enterprises contributing to the development of the zone and the region through investment activities.

2. Chemnovatic

Another company that is currently implementing a new investment activity in the Lublin subzone of SEZ EURO-PARK Mielec is Chemnovatic, a producer and distributor of chemical raw materials. The company specializes mainly in the processing of pure nicotine and the production of e-liquids, and supplies its products to over 60 countries around the world, giving employment to over 120 people.

The new investment concerns building a warehouse and an office complex, as well as launching a new laboratory the implementation of which will increase the company's production capacity and shortly will create several dozen new jobs.

The office space of the investment is 1,700 sqm, while the production hall is 2,000 sqm. The area of the laboratory is 150 sqm, and the warehouse itself will occupy 1,500 sqm. Completion of the investment is scheduled for spring 2022.

3. Aliplast

Aliplast was one of the first companies to locate their business in the Lublin subzone of SEZ EURO PARK Mielec and since then, the enterprise is dynamically developing and expanding its facilities and production potential.

In the first quarter of 2022, Aliplast plans to put a new production hall into use. The new facility will occupy approx. 8,000 sqm, 40% of which will be used for the extrusion of the aluminium profiles with peripheral devices, while the remaining part will be developed for the production of, among others CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) services. Additionally, Aliplast will launch a second horizontal varnishing machine for processing aluminium sheets. In connection with the adopted investment plan, the company plans to increase employment to more than 1000 people.

7R and its modern warehouse facilities

7R is a dynamically growing developer operating on the commercial real estate market all over Poland. It specializes in delivering modern warehouses and production facilities for lease.

Currently, the company is implementing one of its projects at Mełgiewska Street, the construction of which will significantly increase the supply of modern warehouse and production space for lease in Lublin.

7R Park Lublin will ultimately consist of five manufacturing buildings and warehouses with a total area of 111,605 sqm, which will make the park the largest facility of this type in the entire region of Eastern Poland.

The first stage of the investment (dc4 and dc5 buildings) was put into use at the end of November 2021. A new warehouse complex has already found 4 tenants: Euro-net, Lav-Mag, Spiżarnia and Nagel Polska.

In the second stage, which is scheduled for completion at the end of 2022, two warehouse buildings (dc2 and dc3) will be available to potential customers. As declared by the investor, the construction of the entire park will be finished by the end of the third quarter of 2023 when the last stage (building dc1) will be completed.

Lublin as the largest industrial centre in eastern Poland offers attractive development prospects providing the necessary infrastructure, therefore it comes as no surprise that many investors decide to locate their businesses here.

We believe that the above-mentioned investments play a crucial role in the economic development process of our city. They offer new employment and income opportunities being at the very same time an engine of innovation, prosperity and growth.
