fDi's European Cities and Regions of the Future 2022/23 ranking benchmarked various locations for their attractiveness to foreign direct investment (FDI). fDi assessed over 553 cities and regions for its study, grouping them by population size and then ranking them based on data collected across five subcategories: economic potential, business friendliness, connectivity, human capital and lifestyle, and cost-effectiveness. In addition, qualitative data was collected under the sixth category - FDI Strategy.
The last two years show that the outbreak of Coronavirus has negatively affected global foreign direct investment (FDI) flows, nevertheless, the distinction received by Lublin proves its constant strong position and business potential. The consistently implemented strategy to increase Lublin's attractiveness and innovativeness as an area open and ready for foreign business brings today tangible results. It is best illustrated by the growth in the value of foreign capital invested in Lublin per capita, which in 2019, compared to 2011, has increased by 178%. I am glad that Lublin is regularly recognised and appreciated by foreign entities. It is an unquestionable promotion of the city in the international arena, says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.
