Lublin Universities among the best in the world

Medical University of Lublin and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, have been ranked among the best universities in the world according to the recently published ranking by The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) 2023.

In the global ranking, the Medical University of Lublin secured the 1461st position out of 20,531 ranked universities worldwide. The university’s evaluation was primarily based on its research performance, where it achieved a ranking of 1402. On a national scale, the university secured the 26th position.

The second Lublin university included in the global ranking is Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, which obtained the 1549th position among world universities. UMCS was evaluated in the areas of employment and research, where it ranked 1458 and 1487, respectively. Nationally, it secured the 30th position.

The inclusion of these Lublin universities in the prestigious group of less than 8% of the world’s best universities highlights their academic excellence and global recognition.

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) is a renowned consulting organization that offers policy advice, strategic analysis, and consulting services to governments and universities with the goal of improving teaching and research performance. CWUR is known for its objective, transparent, and consistent global university rankings.

The CWUR Ranking considers seven indicators grouped into four thematic areas when assessing universities:

  1. Quality of education: This includes the number of university graduates who have achieved significant academic distinctions relative to the university’s size.
  2. Employment of graduates: This indicator measures the number of university graduates who have attained top executive positions in major global companies and enterprises relative to the university’s size.
  3. Quality of faculty: It focuses on the number of faculty members who have received notable academic distinctions.
  4. Research performance: This area considers various aspects such as the overall number of scientific articles, high-quality publications (e.g., articles published in top journals), impact (e.g., the number of research articles appearing in high-impact journals), and citations in reputable journals.
