Strengthening Polish-Eastern economic bonds

On June 8th, 2017, 2nd PUIG Lub-Invest Polish-Eastern Conference took place in Lublin Conference Centre. The event organised by The Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, The City of Lublin, and the Marshal Office of the Lubelskie Voivodeship was an opportunity to strengthen business cooperation between Poland and eastern countries.

2nd PUIG Lub-Invest was one of the most important business events concerning the Polish-Eastern economic relations. It provided exceptional opportunities to share best practices in encouraging business cooperation between Poland and eastern countries. Hence, almost 300 guests from Poland and abroad participated in the event.

The agenda was divided into two groups of topics dedicated to Polish and international participants. The first one, called ‘East direction – chances, possibilities, and cooperation’, concerned the reasons why to invest in Ukraine, the investment possibilities in Belarus, doing business in the East, the presentation of Moldova and many more. The part for international guests consisted of the presentations about the legal matter of doing business in Poland, Polish tax system, Ukrainian workers in Poland, innovative Polish startups, etc.

The investment opportunities available in the City of Lublin and Lublin Region were presented by Michał Furmanek, Senior Marketing Manager in the Strategy and Investor Relations Department, the City of Lublin, Artur Habza, Head of the Economy and International Cooperation Department in the Marshal Office of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, and Paweł Prokop – President of Manager Initiative Foundation, Head of PUCC Mission in Lublin. The speakers highlighted unique opportunities available in the City of Lublin and Lublin Region and emphasised investor-friendliness of this area, which results from pristine infrastructure, well-developed scientific facilities and experienced academic staff as well as business achievements in the key industries.

The celebration of this year’s 700th anniversary of Lublin allowed the participants to feel the atmosphere of this exceptional city of multicultural traditions and great significance throughout history during the tour on Friday, June 9th.
