20th Lublin Science Festival has officially kicked off

The 20th edition of the Lublin Science Festival kicked off with a memorable highlight—the gala—which was not only a time to look back at the early days of this initiative but also a perfect opportunity to recognize and honor individuals who have been deeply committed to promoting science and advancing the academic potential of Lublin.

In his speech, Mayor of Lublin Dr. Krzysztof Żuk said:

“The Lublin Science Festival is a distinctive event that showcases achievements in science—a field enriched by the commitment and innovation of Lublin’s academic community. I take pride in Lublin’s numerous successes in this area. Through its role in organizing and promoting the festival, the city, in partnership with Lublin’s universities, helps shape Lublin as a hub for expanding knowledge, nurturing scientific interests, and supporting professional development. This anniversary is a great opportunity to thank everyone involved in advancing knowledge and fostering academia. I appreciate your collaboration and openness, which help establish Lublin as a city that values and supports science.”

During the evening gala, representatives of Lublin’s academic community were awarded medals by the Mayor of Lublin. These special honors are given to individuals and institutions whose daily work, social involvement, and dedication have served Lublin and its residents and contributed to promoting the city.

On September 15, the Lublin Science Picnic was also held at Teatralny Square in front of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures. It was a great opportunity to explore the scientific offerings of Lublin’s universities in a relaxed atmosphere and to enjoy surprises prepared by the festival’s partners, all for free.
