Bogdanka, Lublin, and Łęczna join forces for the region’s economic development

The initiative to establish the Investment Zone in Łęczna was originally launched by Bogdanka, the Municipality of Łęczna, and the Industrial Development Agency. Its goal is to create conditions conducive to the growth of businesses and Polish industry, the implementation of innovative solutions, and the creation of new jobs. The city of Lublin has joined the cooperation because, as a co-founder of the Lublin Subzone of the EURO-PARK Mielec Special Economic Zone, it possesses extensive experience in preparing, developing, and servicing investment areas.

“For years, Bogdanka has been one of the most important employers and economic pillars of the Lublin region. The Investment Zone in Łęczna is designed to harness the potential of this area, attract new entrepreneurs, and create prospective jobs. Cooperating on this project will allow us to benefit from our partners’ experience in developing investment sites and effectively acquiring investors. This is an important step toward the responsible economic transformation of the region,” says Zbigniew Stopa, President of the Management Board of Lubelski Węgiel „Bogdanka” S.A.

This is an investment in new jobs, the growth of modern industries, and a stronger position for the Lublin agglomeration on the economic map of Poland and Europe,” says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.

The cooperation will include, among other things: analyzing the potential of investment sites, identifying infrastructure and formal barriers, exchanging information on investor needs and market trends, and collaborating with institutions that support investment development.

“Today’s agreement will make it possible to leverage Lublin’s experience in creating and developing investment sites. The Lublin economic subzone has been a success and currently provides jobs for nearly 5,000 people. I hope that Mayor Krzysztof Żuk, thanks to his knowledge and business contacts, will also act as an ambassador for the Investment Zone in Łęczna and help promote it as an attractive location for new investors,” says Krzysztof Bojarski, Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.

The parties also anticipate organizing working meetings, consultations, and study visits, as well as undertaking joint information and promotional activities.

“By combining Lublin’s experience with the industrial potential of Bogdanka and Łęczna, we are laying the foundation for new investments that will strengthen the competitiveness of the entire region. Our goal is not only to prepare attractive investment sites, but above all to build a sustainable economic ecosystem that will attract entrepreneurs and create high-quality jobs for the region’s residents. The greatest capital of the Lublin region is its people—their skills, experience, and readiness for development. Our task is to create the conditions for this potential to be fully utilized by new investors, giving the region a solid foundation for growth and economic resilience for decades to come,” emphasizes Artur Wasilewski, Deputy President of the Management Board for Economic and Financial Affairs at Lubelski Węgiel „Bogdanka” S.A.

An essential element of the cooperation will be leveraging the complementary potentials of Lublin and Łęczna. The regional capital brings experience related to the development of the economic subzone, investor services, and the commercialization of sites. Meanwhile, Łęczna and Bogdanka offer industrial infrastructure, access to qualified workers, and land that can serve new economic functions in the future.

“We are gaining another strong partner. The City of Lublin will support us with its vast know-how, experience, and valuable business contacts. This is another extremely important step toward the establishment of the Investment Zone in the Municipality of Łęczna,” points out Leszek Włodarski, Mayor of Łęczna.

The signing of the letter of intent does not conclude the process of preparing the Investment Zone; rather, it sets the framework for further cooperation. The next stage will involve detailed analyses regarding technical infrastructure, transport accessibility, spatial planning, and the expectations of potential investors.

The agreement has been concluded for a two-year period. During this time, the parties will undertake legal, organizational, and analytical activities aimed at preparing the Investment Zone in Łęczna and increasing the investment attractiveness of the entire Lublin Voivodeship.
