Lublin and South Korea continue Smart City cooperation under the K-City Network Programme

The main focus of the meetings was to discuss the progress made by the Korean consortium in preparing the Master Plan for the City of Lublin. Korean experts presented the latest findings of their analyses, preliminary recommendations and proposed actions that could help improve the efficiency of the city’s operations, particularly in the areas of mobility, traffic management, new technologies and the integration of urban data.
An important part of the visit was a series of working meetings with representatives of departments of the Lublin City Office and municipal units. Our Department of Strategy and Investor Relations was represented by Director Mariusz Sagan, PhD, and Szymon Horosiewicz. The discussions provided an opportunity to exchange experience, better understand local needs and expectations, and further adapt the proposed solutions to Lublin’s specific conditions and development priorities. Direct dialogue also made it possible to address technical and organisational issues related to the next stages of the project.
During the visit, the partners also focused on preparations for the implementation of pilot projects in the field of smart traffic management. They discussed the scope of the planned activities, their implementation schedule, technical aspects and the division of responsibilities between the partners. The pilot projects are scheduled to launch in autumn 2026 and will be an important step towards testing modern tools to support transport management and improve traffic flow across the city.
The visit confirmed both sides’ commitment to long-term cooperation and to jointly implementing innovative solutions that address the challenges faced by modern cities. In the coming months, the partners will focus on finalising the Master Plan and implementing the agreed pilot projects. Their results will provide a basis for the further development of smart urban systems in Lublin.
