Lublin Diamonds shine bright!

One of the most prestigious business magazines in Poland ‘Forbes’ has published this year's edition of 'Forbes Diamonds' ranking which brings together the fastest growing companies. The title is awarded to companies that have had the strongest impact on the development of the Polish economy and whose value has grown the fastest in the last three years. The ranking enjoys a reputation as one of the most accurate and reliable on the market.

The highest score in our region was achieved by Medisept, a Lublin-based manufacturer of hygiene and disinfection solutions. In 2020, the company reported a net sales revenue increase of 263.09%, thus guaranteeing itself not only first place in Lublin province but also 7th position on the national list.

In the 14th edition of the ranking, the editorial staff of Forbes and Dun & Bradstreet Poland evaluated parameters such as sales level, net profit, and value of capital expenditures. The ranking perfectly reflects the trends in the domestic economy. Lubelskie region is 11th with 181 companies, 88 of which are from Lublin. The laureates represent mainly small and medium-sized companies that specialise in growing industrial plants, fruit and vegetables.

Companies from the  “Forbes Diamonds” group were divided into 16 provinces, and, within each of them, into another three categories according to the level of revenue: PLN 5-50 million, PLN 50-250 million, and over PLN 250 million.

  • In the category of large companies with revenues above 250 million, there are 11 Diamonds from Lubelskie voivodship, including 6 from Lublin. The highest score was achieved by Spiżarnia Wholesaler. The company with 45.51 million net profit was placed 1st on the regional list and 18th on the national one.
  • In the category of companies with revenues from 50 million to 250 million, there are 47 Forbes Diamonds in our voivodship, including as many as 17 from Lublin. An unquestionable leader in Lubelskie voivodship is Medisept, which additionally came 7th in Poland.
  • The third category regards small companies with revenues from 5 million to 50 million. Among 159 diamonds from the Lubelskie region, there are 65 from Lublin. The highest score in our city got Utylimed, which was ranked 2nd on the regional list and 33rd on the national one.

The Forbes Diamonds title confirms the companies’ strong position on the Polish market and shapes the positive image of the Lublin economy.

As the organisers emphasise, in the perspective of this year’s challenges that business has had to face, such confirmation of the strength and quality of a company’s activity is particularly important. This year’s “Forbes Diamonds” list is exceptional also due to the fact that for the first time in its history, the number of candidates for the “Diamonds” title amounted to several thousand.
