Modern school workshops for students

The City of Lublin will rebuild and equip workshops in three vocational schools: the School Complex of Electronics, the School Complex of Power Engineering, and the Lublin Center for Vocational and Continuing Education. The investments will be carried out with nearly PLN 12 million in European funding. – Modern vocational education should provide proper learning conditions. In municipal technical schools, vocational schools, and continuing education institutions, alongside theoretical knowledge gained in class, practice is key in preparing students for their future professions. That is why investing in school workshop infrastructure is so important — it is here that young people acquire the practical skills they will later use in their careers. The development of specialists in many industries is also an investment in Lublin’s future, said Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.

Scope of Work

Major investments are underway in Lublin’s school workshops: at Wojciechowska Street, advanced construction works are in progress; at Długa Street, the site was handed over to the contractor last week; and for the third facility on Magnoliowa Street, the Municipal Investment Board announced a tender on September 19. Thanks to EU funding, students will gain access to modern workshops that meet the requirements of today’s labor market.

The scope of work includes, among others: the reconstruction of workshop rooms, replacement of joinery, installation of new systems, adaptation of facilities for people with disabilities (including the installation of lifts), installation of photovoltaic panels, modern ventilation, air-conditioning and safety systems, as well as the renovation of sanitary facilities, staircases, and the purchase of specialist equipment.

Status of Contracts with Contractors

For the reconstruction of the workshops at the School Complex of Electronics, a contract was signed with PBH ESCO-BUD worth PLN 1.822 million, with completion planned for the end of October. In the case of the School Complex of Power Engineering, the contractor is Edach Sp. z o.o. under a contract worth PLN 3.091 million, with completion scheduled for July next year. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of workshops at the Lublin Center for Vocational and Continuing Education is currently at the tender stage. The investment is planned to be completed within 16 months from the signing of the contract. Bids may be submitted until October 6.
