The 15th edition of the Lublin Mayor’s Economic Award competition launched

Applications are now open for this year's jubilee edition of Lublin Mayor's Economic Award competition. Entrepreneurs, representatives of scientific research institutes, innovators, and inventors have the opportunity to join the esteemed group of laureates. The deadline for submitting competition applications is October 16th.
Lublin Mayor's Economic Award

The Economic Award is one of the forms to promote pro-investment and pro-innovation attitudes among entrepreneurs in Lublin. It also confirms Lublin’s prominent position on the economic map. We warmly invite all those who have made a significant contribution to the economic development and modernization of the city, but also promoted positive models, and engaged in activities to promote and build the prestige of the Lublin economy to apply for the competition, says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.

Representatives of companies, institutions, and organizations can participate in the competition in five categories: ‘Innovation’, ‘Presence on the Global Market’, ‘Large Companies – Growth Engines of Lublin’s Economy’, ‘Young Companies’, and ‘Creative Industries’. The competition is open, allowing submissions from institutions, organizations, editorial teams, as well as individual candidates.

Candidates in each category should have their headquarters or carry out their activities within the city of Lublin. They should have made a significant contribution to the city’s economic development, complied with the law, and met the following criteria:

1. In the ‘Innovation’ category, meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • carry out research or implement innovative solutions within the last 3 years
  • economically benefit from implemented innovations
  • be authors of an innovative technology that has been fully implemented and available on the market

2. In the ‘Presence on the Global Market’ category, meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • have a high share of export revenues and demonstrate the dynamics of their growth
  • have significant shares in businesses based outside Poland
  • conduct research and development or implementation works focused on the development of activities on global markets

3. In the ‘‘Large Companies – Growth Engines of Lublin’s Economy’ category, meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • have a positive impact on the labour market of the city of Lublin
  • implement significant investment projects
  • have a recognizable brand

4. In the ‘Young Companies’ category, all applicants are required to operate on the market for no more than 5 years starting from December 31, 2022, and meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • show a dynamic increase in sales from the beginning of the company’s existence
  • have potential for further development
  • show a dynamic increase in employment.

5. In the ‘Creative Industries’ category:

  • run a business for at least 2 years, counting until 31 December 2022;
  • in the case of using a subsidy from the budget of the Lublin Commune in the last closed financial year, show that it constituted no more than 30% of the company’s revenues;
  • operate within one of the following areas (according to the PKD code): film, video, or multimedia; music; television; radio; publishing market; games and software; crafts and handicrafts; architecture; advertising and branding; design; fashion design.

Applications for the Economic Award of the City of Lublin can be submitted through the following methods:

  • in person at the Lublin City Office, Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, 1 Litewski Square (room 103).
  • by registered mail (the postmark date is decisive) to the address: Lublin City Hall, Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, 1 Litewski Square, 20-080 Lublin, with the note ” “Konkurs o Nagrodę Gospodarczą Prezydenta Miasta Lublin – edycja 2023”
  • via email (biznes@lublin.eu), provided that the application form is signed with a secure electronic signature, verified with a valid qualified certificate.
  • in electronic form via the Electronic Inbox (ESP) available on the Electronic Platform of Public Administration Services (ePUAP) at: / UMLublin / SkrytkaESP.
